June 2017 Monthly Luncheon – Our Legislative Update
The June 2017 theme was our legislative update. What are the bills being signed or proposed and how will they affect us? We caught up on the issues in what was proven to be a very busy political and legislative year.
Our June Speakers
Tom Polikalas – Nevada Representative at the Southwest Energy Efficiency Project (SWEEP).
The Southwest Energy Efficiency Project (SWEEP) is a public interest organization promoting greater energy efficiency in Arizona, Colorado, Nevada, New Mexico, Utah, and Wyoming. Traditionally this is a high growth region where energy efficiency efforts were lagging compared to some other regions, air pollution is a growing concern, and coal-fired power plants provide the majority of electricity supply. Due in large part to the efforts of SWEEP, the region has made great strides in advancing energy efficiency over the past decade.
Jarrett Clark – Program and Communications Director for the Clean Energy of Nevada.
Jarrett develops and implements strategic plans for educating and engaging Nevadans on the economic benefits of clean energy development. Clean Energy Project, Inc. (CEP) is a nonprofit, non-partisan organization dedicated to powering the clean energy economy through education and engagement with policy leaders, community leaders and citizens on the economic benefits of fully developing a clean energy economy. CEP builds on existing successful policies and advocates for continued development of the west’s promising clean energy industry.
