As transportation continues to be an issue and congestion continues to get worse one issue the population living in Las Vegas continues to face is the commute. While long term projects have literally paved the way to the moderate and heavy traffic commuters face during peak driving hours, more work is needed to improve transportation costs, waste and inefficiencies throughout our state’s corridors and roadways.

The Regional Transportation Commission of Southern Nevada has taken to the streets to get your opinions and insights for future transportation options. During our September event learn more about the RTC and how their On Board program is working hard to solve this problem in the Las Vegas community.

About OnBoard

The Southern Nevada region is rapidly growing and growth is happening everywhere – from new sports teams to new hospitals; from new master planned communities to new employment centers; from new resorts to new education facilities. As a community, we need to identify enhanced multi-modal options that will support this growth, reinvest in our neighborhoods, and allow us to move large amounts of people reliably and efficiently.  On Board, our community’s 20-year mobility plan, will help identify potential solutions to this challenge.

Craig will share how On Board is working toward recommendations to identify:

  • Corridors where high capacity transit services such as bus rapid transit, streetcar, or light rail would provide the most benefit to riders and the regional economy.
  • Current transit system enhancements, such as new, more frequent and faster routes, that would provide the most benefit to riders and the surrounding community.
  • First-and-last mile connections to major transit hubs, including rideshare, bikeshare, pedestrian improvements, and other mobility options.
  • Emerging transportation technologies that could enhance mobility for all modes of travel.
