GCNV Luncheon – Why Green Buildings Are Essential

January 17, 2018 @ 11:30 am - 1:00 pm

What are Green Buildings?

Green building (also called sustainable design) refers to creating facilities that use energy and water in an efficient way.  This method of building provides a healthier space for people and the environment. Green building not only refers to the structure itself, it extends to the land use as well. At this month’s meeting, we will hear from the Vice President of Global Sustainability at Las Vegas Sands Corporation, Katarina Tesarova, to discuss how green building is being implemented in the state of Nevada.

Green Building Benefits

Come join us to discuss the many benefits of green building, including:

  • Environmental – Uses less energy and produces less waste
  • Economic – Lower cost of operation; higher employee productivity
  • Social – Improved occupant health and well being; better air quality
