July is all about Independence Day, so what better month than to speak on the topic on many Nevadan’s mind, water independence. We welcome this month’s keynote speaker, Doug Bennett, the Conservation Manager at the Southern Nevada Water Authority. He brings a wealth of timely, and in-depth knowledge about the state of the Nevada water supply, and will be discussing some of the more major conservation initiatives currently underway.
We welcome you to join our Board of Directors, members, guests, and sponsors as we offer information regarding becoming more sustainable and water efficient. Through water conservation initiatives we will invite you to take part in individual and group efforts, helping Nevada take the steps necessary to become water independent.
About Our Topic & Speaker
The Southern Nevada Water Authority is the regional cooperative group formed to address our unique water needs in each Nevada region. Since 2000, Doug Bennett has been Conservation Manager for the SNWA, managing the nation’s largest conservation incentive programs and coordinating regional water-efficiency efforts for the Las Vegas, Nevada area.

For over a decade Doug has also worked with WaterSmart Innovations Conference and is their Program Chair. Their group is a non-profit educational event that helps increase the momentum in which water efficient products and practices are adopted, and their annual conference is the largest gathering of urban water efficiency professionals dedicated to this cause. Doug also sat as the Vice-Chair for the USGBC Water Efficiency Technical Advisory Group (WE TAG). This group advises the US Green Building Council in developing water efficiency standards for the LEED program.
About Our Luncheons
Our monthly luncheons are a great way to network with like-minded, environmentally responsible and sustainability conscious business owners, leaders, entrepreneurs, innovators, local and state officials, and community members. Each luncheon event includes lunch, legislative update, educational, and member provided raffle. Raffle tickets are available at the door for cash or charge.
