A story originally aired featuring a video, viewed over 400,000 times online, of three individuals dumping what was described as “sludge” onto bare ground. In this video, available below, it shows one man dumping the alleged waste while another records, and a third individual is briefly in frame. The camera momentarily hovered over a label that states the substance is “metalworking fluid” without additional specification as to the exact contents.
It has since been discovered by an investigation sought by David Emme, administrator of the Nevada Department of Environmental Protection, that the videos were not accurately depicting the situation. A statement has been released by the foundry stating that the men had “falsely [accused] the company of directing them to illegally dispose of wastes…to further their own agendas.”
