Our April Panelists
Wendy Ayers is an Outreach Account Manager for Sustainable Energy Use with Commercial Energy Services for NV Energy. In this role, Ms. Ayers implements strategic outreach plans to reach eligible commercial and industrial customers and ensure that business development targets are achieved. Ms. Ayers has been with the commercial Energy Services for NV Energy since 2012 and understands the unique needs of the Nevada business owner, contractors and nonprofit agencies.
Ms. Ayers has 22 years’ experience in residential and commercial electric utility energy efficiency rebate programs. Ms. Ayers managed the Commercial Energy Services Non-Profit Agency Grant program for three years. She has successfully maintained a working relationship with customers and contractors while effectively exceeding program goals. Ms. Ayers has experience developing educational webinars and trainings as well as operation procedures for the Non-Profit Agency Grant program and the Commercial Energy Services Small Business program. In addition to live seminars and webinars she has provided individual training for approved contractors for the Commercial Energy Services Small Business program.
She has provided training courses on: Non-Profit Agency Grant Program: Information on how to benefit from incentive programs designed for registered 501 (c) 3 agencies within the NV Energy service territory, Small Business, Launch: Training for approved contactors in the utilization of the Commercial Energy Services Small Business program.
Prior to joining the Commercial Energy Services from NV Energy, Ms. Ayers held the role of Senior Energy Efficiency Coordinator with Progress Energy Florida where she was involved in their commercial and residential energy efficiency programs. She was also involved in their commercial and residential solar program as well as their low income weatherization program.
Ms. Ayers holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and an Associate’s degree in Business Management.
Farrow J. Smith Jr.
Farrow Smith, Business Development Manager, with Bombard Renewable Energy is responsible for marketing, community relations, commercial solar sales and overseeing residential sales. Previously he worked in the solar domestic hot water and solar pool heating for residence and commercial properties. Preceding work history and duties include HomeFree Nevada, the non-profit sponsor of the State of Nevada Home Performance with ENERGY STAR® and the EnergyFit Nevada program as Business Development/Programs Manager. He received his Building Analyst certification from BPI Building Performance Industries in 2012.
Presently Farrow Smith’s community activities include appointment to the Board of Boys Town Nevada in 2005 and for 2013 and 2014 he was the Board Chair. There Smith serves on the Executive Committee, Finance Committee, Public Relations and Donor Committee. As a member of the Nevada Energy Star Partnership (Green Alliance) he serves on the board. He also is a member and active with the U.S. Green Building Council serving on the Programs & Membership Committee and the Distributed Generation Alliance. Other organizations include the Clean Energy Project, Green Chip and SolarNV, American Solar Energy Association, Green Chamber of Commerce of NV and Las Vegas Metro Chamber of Commerce.
Born in South Carolina, Farrow has been a resident of Las Vegas since 1970 and has been married to his wife, Hellen, for over 34 years. He enjoys snow skiing, scuba diving, white water rafting, classic cars, traveling and spending time with friends and family.
Miguel Angel Gutierrez
Born in Chicago, Illinois Miguel Gutierrez holds a B2 General Contracting license with the Nevada State Contractors Board, and a C2g which is a photovoltaic specialty license in the state of Nevada. A graduate of UNLV with multiple degrees in different areas of Engineering. Having taught PV theory and design nationwide to assist building officials in acquiring the necessary knowledge and understanding of the different types of systems and how they come together, Miguel has worked on many projects to reduce waste and increase efficiency. Some of these projects include: ·Terminal 3 McCarran Airport Design Project Engineer, Las Vegas Convention Center Remodel Project Coordinator, Azul Tequila, Forum Shops, and Solar installations and designs for 240 homes in 2014 alone.
